Touch screen was malfunctioning.

I only had to follow the opening of the tablet portion of the guide. But the tools worked exactly as described.

Although the teardown guide does mention that they cracked the back cover on the one they demo'd. Be very careful. The bezel around the glass of the tablet is very brittle. I chipped mine on the corner while trying to remove the back cover.
