Button fixed but now part of the touch screen stopped working

The home button didn't respond anymore so I thought I'd fix that and get at least one more year out of my beautiful iPhone 4.

All went fine except putting the motherboard back in. You have to get the screen and digitizer cable through this narrow hole, and the digitiser cable kept buckling. I think I broke one of the wires in there while fiddling about with that, and now a small 'column' at the left of the screen doesn't respond anymore. It's not as bad as a broken button but it is annoying because now I can't type my iCloud password anymore in landscape mode, which is the only mode you can type your password in. So if something breaks in the software and I have to type my password I'm screwed.

Be very careful with the two cables I mentioned. The rest of the repair process is not so hard.
