Difficult

My Macbook Pro (Early 2008-Penryn) wasn't able to start up properly. Before that, I just had the time to backup all my data, and when I tried to reinstall the OS it definitely died.

After I brought it to a local Apple store to know exactly what part was defective, I ordered a new motherboard and attended to replace it myself.

It all went fine!

The iFixit guide was really helpful. I dissembled it and placed some thermal paste on the processors and graphic chipset, then re-assembled the whole thing.

It started up perfectly and I was able to reinstall Mavericks.

Since that, nothing wrong happened.

Just be organized with the screws, and be patient.

Don't freak out with the connectors, they are fragile but if you're gentle, it should make it.
