My 13" MacBook Pro could not boot up due to not being able to find a device to boot up from, which meant that the problem lied in either the HDD or a similar component. I borrowed a friend's Macbook to use his properly functioning parts to check what the root of the problem was. Replacing my HDD cable with his worked and so I concluded that the problem was my cable. It was probably damaged due to my running to school early in the morning to get there punctually.

I decided to order a HDD cable from iFixit (there were other sources that I could get one from, at cheaper prices, but none of them offered PayPal and safe shipping). It arrived at my home a few days later and I immediately got to work replacing my damaged cable. It was extremely easy and took no more than a minute. I then tried booting up my MacBook and sure enough, it was working again. I then screwed the lower case of the unibody back on. A satisfied customer I was. :)

Treat your MacBook (and other electronic devices) with care. :P
