Repair-A-Thon Success!

We can’t thank you all enough for participating in our very first Repair-A-Thon contest. 

We had an unprecedented amount of entries which is an awesome way for iFixit to celebrate turning 20 years old, but it’s also an even more awesome way to help folks fix their stuff!

Creating this contest was easy. We know that consumers are starting to consider repair as the first option instead of buying new. We also know that they are getting tired of paying more money for something that won’t last half as long as it’s supposed to, and which, technically, doesn’t even belong to them. 

This is why having a repair Forum is crucial. People who are questioning the status quo need a place where they can come to ask repair questions about things that are designed to be unrepairable. iFixit is fighting each and every day to keep our Answers Forum relevant so that folks can feel empowered to fix their things. 

But, we can’t do it without the Community, which is why we enlisted your help to answer as many unanswered questions as possible. 

Everyone who entered did an incredible job to get their fellow community members the help they needed and by extension, also helped to reduce the number of unanswered questions on the Forum. Collectively, all of our participants answered hundreds of questions! This means that in the future when someone is asking a similar question, they will be able to find some advice and fix their thing without needing to ask a new question. 

We appreciate your contributions to this mission and sincerely thank everyone who participated this year. It was difficult for us not to declare everyone a winner.

To that end, this was a challenge, and we have some winners we’d like to acknowledge!
