iFixit’s mission is to teach the world how to fix every thing.
That’s why we offer over 100,000 step-by-step guides for fixing the gadgets that run your life, from your phone and laptop to your kids’ weird toys. It’s why we’ve partnered with Patagonia to make sewing repair guides, why we’ve built out our general troubleshooting guides for home appliances, and why we run an educational program in which we’ve helped share the joy of repair with 32,000 students from over 100 universities.
But what about younger students? Shouldn’t we really be inspiring kids to get into fixing as soon as they’re old enough to pick up a screwdriver?
YES! Yes, kids absolutely should be fixing things. And that’s why we’re thrilled to announce that we’re partnering with Team Repair to offer kids’ repair kits to customers in the US and EU.
What’s Team Repair?
Team Repair is a UK educational startup empowering young people through hands-on electronics repair.
Founded by a team of engineers passionate about transforming science education through practical learning, Team Repair has already enabled over 13,000 children across the UK to discover the joy of repairing. Following high demand, the company is now expanding internationally for the first time. But until now, Team Repair kits have only been available in the UK.

For the first time, Team Repair’s kits will be available to customers in the US and EU, distributed through iFixit’s global platform. The kits, which combine fun STEM learning with repair education, guide users through real-life repair challenges, helping them learn how to fix broken devices.

What’s in the Kits?
At the heart of each kit is a broken retro game console that needs to be brought back to life.
As you dive in, you’ll learn how things work, solve tricky problems, and discover new ways to fix something. Don’t worry if things don’t go perfectly at first—that’s part of the fun! The more you experiment, the better you’ll get.
In the box, you’ll find:
- A faulty Retro Games Console
- All the tools and spare parts needed for the repair
- 3 hours of engaging repair, science, design, and sustainability challenges
- Step-by-step paper instructions and access to interactive online guides (in English)
- Access to educational STEM videos throughout the repair
That’s everything you need to explore, tinker, and repair like a true inventor.
Limited Supplies (for Now)
We’re starting with a limited run. But if you’re reading this after we’ve sold out, or if kits aren’t available to ship to your area, please hit the “notify me” button on the product page! We’ll be tracking interest to figure out where and how we can expand this partnership from here.
Meanwhile: Grab a kit for the tiny tinkerer in your life, while supplies last!
