Boot from the Floppy

  • Boot your Tecra M5 from the maintenance floppy. Select option 2: Repair initial config set. This is supposed to shut down your system when it finishes, but it failed to terminate on my laptop. Eventually I removed the floppy and rebooted my Tecra M5 laptop.

  • The Settings/System/About dialog now shows the updated CPU.

  • The device manager now shows the updated CPU.

  • Running the maintenance tool is also supposed to cure the problem of the fan running at full speed following a CPU upgrade.

Arrancar desde el disquete

Arranca tu Tecra M5 desde el disquete de mantenimiento. Selecciona la opción 2: Reparar conjunto de configuración inicial. Se supone que esto apagará tu sistema cuando termine, pero no pudo terminar en mi computadora portátil. Finalmente, saqué el disquete y reinicié mi computadora portátil Tecra M5.

El cuadro de diálogo Configuración/Sistema/Acerca de ahora muestra la CPU actualizada.

El administrador de dispositivos ahora muestra la CPU actualizada.

También se supone que ejecutar la herramienta de mantenimiento soluciona el problema del ventilador funcionando a toda velocidad después de una actualización de la CPU.
