  • Select your hard drive from the left column in Disk Utility.

  • It is most likely the uninitialized drive.

  • If you have multiple hard drives, make sure you select the correct one as the next step will wipe the selected drive clean.

  • Click the "Erase" button at the top of the window.

  • Choose a name for your drive (you can rename it later). Leave the scheme as GUID Partition Map.

  • If you are installing an SSD, choose the APFS format. If you are installing a mechanical drive or if your device doesn't officially support the newer OS, leave the format as Mac OS Extended (journaled)

  • Click "Erase." When the process completes, click "Done."

  • Exit the Disk Utility by clicking on the red X button on the top left corner of the window.

Selecteer je harde schijf in de linkerkolom van het schijfhulpprogramma.

Het is hoogstwaarschijnlijk de nog niet geïnitialiseerde schijf.

Als je meerdere harde schijven hebt, let er dan goed op dat je de juiste schijf selecteert. In de volgende stap wordt de schijf namelijk volledig schoongemaakt. Alle bestanden zullen worden gewist.

Klik op de "Verwijder"-knop bovenin het scherm.

Kies een naam voor je schijf (je kunt deze later nog aanpassen). Zorg dat de scheme ingesteld blijft als GUID Partition Map.

Als je een SSD installeert, kies je het APFS-formaat. Als je een mechanische schijf installeert of als je toestel officieel geen nieuwer OS-besturingssysteem ondersteunt, laat je het formaat op Mac OS Extended (journaled) staan.

Klik op "Verwijder." Als het proces voltooid is, klik je op "Done."

Sluit het schijfhulpprogramma af door op de rode X-knop linksbovenin het scherm te klikken.
