  • Select your hard drive from the left column in Disk Utility.

  • It is most likely the uninitialized drive.

  • If you have multiple hard drives, make sure you select the correct one as the next step will wipe the selected drive clean.

  • Click the "Erase" button at the top of the window.

  • Choose a name for your drive (you can rename it later). Leave the scheme as GUID Partition Map.

  • If you are installing an SSD, choose the APFS format. If you are installing a mechanical drive or if your device doesn't officially support the newer OS, leave the format as Mac OS Extended (journaled)

  • Click "Erase." When the process completes, click "Done."

  • Exit the Disk Utility by clicking on the red X button on the top left corner of the window.

Selecciona tu disco duro en la columna izquierda en Utilidades del Disco.

Es el más parecido a la unidad sin iniciar.

Si tienes varios discos duros, asegúrate de seleccionar el correcto, ya que el siguiente paso es limpiar el disco duro seleccionado.

Haz clic en el botón "Borrar" en la parte superior de la ventana.

Selecciona un nombre para la Unidad (que luego puedas recordar). Mantén el esquema como Mapa de Partición GUID.

Si estás instalando un SSD, elige el formato APFS. Si va a instalar en un disco duro o si el dispositivo no soporta oficialmente el OS mas nuevo, deje el formato como Mac OS Extended (journaled)

Cuando se termine el proceso, haz clic en "Hecho".

Sal de las Utilidades del Disco haciendo clic en el botón X rojo en la esquina superior de la ventana.
