  • Blasting through the pentalobe-and-suction-cup-dance normally reserved for iPhones, we beast the lid off with a familiar sliding maneuver.

  • Let's play "Spot the Differences!" On the left we have the Touch Bar MBP, and on the right is the Escape Edition MBP.

  • Touch Bar features: a smaller battery, two fans, double-ended heat sink, no SSD card, and lower speakers (that don't actually line up with their grilles).

  • Function Key features: way more components that you can actually remove right off the bat—namely the SSD, speakers, and battery (well ... sort of).

  • On the Touch Bar model, it looks like we can only remove the trackpad and headphone jack before hitting a logic board barrier.

Hoewel het normaal voor de meest iPhone's gereserveerd is, halen we ook bij deze laptop even snel de pentalobe-en-zuignap-procedure uit de kast. Vervolgens kunnen we het onderste deksel eruit schuiven met een bekende manoeuvre.

Laten we "Herken de verschillen!" spelen: aan de linkerkant hebben we de Touch Bar MBP, aan de rechterkant de Escape Edition MBP.

Touch Bar features: een kleinere batterij, twee ventilatoren, dubbelzijdig koellichaam, geen SSD-kaart, speakers aan de onderkant (die niet helemaal mooi uitkomen met de grills).

Function Key features: veel meer onderdelen die je vrijwel direct kunt verwijderen—waaronder de SSD, de speakers en de batterij (hoewel... soort van).

Het lijkt er bij het Touch Bar-model op dat we enkel het trackpad en de hoofdtelefoonjack kunnen verwijderen voordat we op het logic board stuiten.
