  • Anxious to get a peek at the third take on Apple's reengineered thermal architecture, we free the fans from the four T3 screws securing them to the rear case.

  • And they come out hassle-free. No glue on this puppy!

  • On the outside that is. Opening up this fan (right) takes some seriously aggressive prying against clips and adhesive compared to the screw-centric construction we saw in the 13" models (left).

  • This fan is also sporting completely different blades from the ones we previously encountered.

  • And for those of you keeping score, they're marginally larger than their counterparts from the 13" model, measuring in at 46.6 mm compared to 42.3 mm.

  • What appears to be Texas Instruments fan controllers are seen on the flex cable.

Gespannen om weer een kijk te nemen in de, voor de derde keer door Apple herontworpen, thermische architectuur, bevrijden we de ventilatoren van de vier T3-schroeven die ze aan de achterste behuizing bevestigen.

En ze komen eruit zonder al te veel moeite. Geen lijm op deze stukjes laptop!

Geen lijm aan de buitenkant. Het openen van deze ventilator (rechts) vereist heel wat serieus en agressief gewrik om het juk van de klemmen en de lijm omver te werpen vergeleken met de geschroefde constructie die we in de 13"-modellen (links) tegenkwamen.

Deze ventilator bevat ook compleet andere bladen dan de bladen die we hiervoor zijn tegengekomen.

En voor diegenen die de score bijhouden, ze zijn, met een grootte van 46.6 mm ten opzichte van 42.3 mm, net iets groter dan hun tegenhangers in het 13"-model.
