  • Place the new filter onto the engine's oil filter threads, being careful not to get dirt and debris on the wet oil filter gasket.

  • Turn the oil filter clockwise by hand until it is snug. Tightening should require a moderate amount of your strength, but not all of it.

  • If the filter is difficult to turn at the beginning of its threads, stop! You may be cross threading the oil filter. Re-align the oil filter and try again.

  • Do not over-tighten your oil filter. Doing so may cause the oil filter seal to leak and will make removing the oil filter very difficult in the future.

  • Remove the oil drain pan from under the car.

Coloque el filtro nuevo en las roscas del filtro de aceite del motor, teniendo cuidado de que no entre suciedad ni residuos en la junta húmeda del filtro de aceite.

Gire a mano el filtro de aceite en el sentido de las agujas del reloj hasta que quede ajustado. El apriete debe requerir una cantidad moderada de su fuerza, pero no toda.

Si le resulta difícil girar el filtro al principio de la rosca, ¡deténgase! Puede que esté enroscando en cruz el filtro de aceite. Vuelva a alinear el filtro de aceite e inténtelo de nuevo.

No apriete demasiado el filtro de aceite. Si lo hace, puede provocar fugas en la junta del filtro de aceite y dificultar el desmontaje del filtro en el futuro.

Retire la bandeja de drenaje de aceite de debajo del coche.
