  • Place the threaded end of the oil filter onto the engine's oil filter threads, being careful to not get dirt or debris on the filter's gasket.

  • Turn the filter clockwise by hand until it is snug. Tightening the filter should require a moderate amount of your strength, but not all of it.

  • If the filter is difficult to turn at the beginning of its threads, stop! You may be cross threading the oil filter. Re-align the oil filter and try again.

  • Do not over-tighten your oil filter by using a wrench. Doing so may cause the oil filter seal to leak and will make removing the oil filter very difficult in the future.

  • Remove the oil drain pan from under the car.

Coloca el extremo roscado del filtro de aceite en las roscas del filtro de aceite del motor, teniendo cuidado de no ensuciar ni dejar residuos en la junta del filtro.

Gira el filtro en el sentido de las agujas del reloj con la mano hasta que quede ajustado. Apretar el filtro debería requerir una cantidad moderada de tu fuerza, pero no toda.

Si el filtro es difícil de girar al principio de sus roscas, ¡detente! Es posible que estés enroscando el filtro de aceite. Vuelve a alinear el filtro de aceite y vuelve a intentarlo.

No aprietes demasiado el filtro de aceite con una llave. Si lo haces, puedes causar fugas en el sello del filtro de aceite y dificultarás mucho la extracción del filtro de aceite en el futuro.

Retira la bandeja de drenaje de aceite de debajo del coche.
