  • Place the threaded end of the oil filter onto the engine's oil filter threads, being careful to not get dirt or debris on the filter's gasket.

  • Turn the filter clockwise by hand until it is snug. Tightening the filter should require a moderate amount of your strength, but not all of it.

  • If the filter is difficult to turn at the beginning of its threads, stop! You may be cross threading the oil filter. Re-align the oil filter and try again.

  • Do not over-tighten your oil filter by using a wrench. Doing so may cause the oil filter seal to leak and will make removing the oil filter very difficult in the future.

  • Remove the oil drain pan from under the truck.

Placez l'extrémité filetée du filtre à huile sur le filetage du filtre à huile du moteur, en veillant à ne pas salir le joint du filtre.

Tournez le filtre à la main dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre jusqu'à ce qu'il soit bien serré. Le serrage du filtre doit nécessiter une force modérée, mais pas toute votre force.

Si le filtre est difficile à tourner au début du filetage, arrêtez-vous ! Vous risquez de fausser le filetage du filtre à huile. Réalignez le filtre à huile et réessayez.

Ne serrez pas trop le filtre à huile à l'aide d'une clé. Cela pourrait endommager le joint du filtre à huile et rendre son démontage très difficile à l'avenir.

Retirez le bac de vidange d'huile situé sous le camion.
