Draining the Old Stuff

  • Use a 17 mm box-end or socket wrench to loosen the drain plug. When you're able to, remove the wrench and loosen it by hand.

  • Be sure to wear protective gloves (and eyewear). If the car has been running, the oil, transmission and exhaust may be hot. Also, keep some rags or towels close by in case of spills.

Altöl ablassen

Nutze eine 17-mm-Ratsche oder einen Gabelringschlüssel, um die Ablassschraube zu lockern. Wenn sie locker genug ist, leg den Schlüssel beiseite und schraube sie mit der Hand aus.

Achte darauf, dass du Handschuhe trägst (und eine Schutzbrille). Sollte das Fahrzeug zuvor bewegt worden sein, könnte das Öl, das Getriebe und der Auspuff sehr heiss sein. Halte auch immer ein paar Lappen oder Handtücher bereit, falls etwas Öl danebenfließt.
