  • Remove the dipstick again.

  • The bent length at the end of the dipstick marks the minimum and maximum oil levels. Check to make sure that you have the right amount of oil. It takes about one quart to go from minimum to maximum.

  • Before driving anywhere, start the car and let it run for a couple minutes. While the engine is running, check underneath the car for any oil leaks. If oil is dripping from the drain plug you should first check for any cracks in the drain pan. If there are no cracks, you can turn off the car, and tighten the drain plug. Also, check again that the oil level has not gone outside the limits while the car was on.

Enlevez de nouveau la jauge.

Les marques en bas de la jauge indiquent le niveau minimum et le maximum. Vérifiez que vous avez la bonne quantité d'huile. La différence entre le niveau minimum et le niveau maximum est d'environ 1/4 de litre.

Avant de conduire, démarrez la voiture et laissez le moteur tourner quelques minutes. Pendant que le moteur tourne, vérifiez sous la voiture s'il y a une fuite d'huile. Si de l'huile goutte du bouchon de vidange, commencez par vérifiez si le carter n'est pas fêlé. Si ce n'est pas le cas, éteignez le moteur et resserrez le bouchon de vidange.

Vérifiez une dernière fois que le niveau d'huile est toujours bon depuis que le moteur a recommencé à tourner.
