  • When the drain plug is completely loose, let it fall into the oil drain pan with the draining oil.

  • Avoid letting the plug fall if you have an "homemade" pan. However, there is no problem with an oil drain pan off the shelf.

  • Watch the draining oil for shiny specks. Metal flakes in the oil could mean that there is a serious problem with your engine internals.

  • Allow oil to drain out of the oil pan until it slows to small drops.

  • Once the draining has slowed significantly, wipe off the area around the oil drain with a rag or towel.

  • Replace the drain plug and hand-tighten it.

  • It is better to put a seal under the drain plug (outside diameter 20 mm, inside diameter 15 mm).

Une fois que le bouchon de vidange est complètement dévissé, laissez-le tomber dans le bac.

Si vous utilisez un bac "maison", il vaudrait mieux éviter de faire tomber le bouchon, par contre ça n'est pas gênant avec un bac du commerce.

Vérifiez que vous ne voyez pas de morceaux de métal, scintillants dans l'huile. Si c'est le cas, c'est que votre moteur a de gros problèmes.

Laissez l'huile s'écouler jusqu'à ce qu'elle ne sorte plus que goutte à goutte.

Une fois que le débit est presque arrêté, essuyez le carter autour du bouchon avec un chiffon.

Replacez le bouchon et resserrez-le à la main .

Il serait préférable de mettre un joint de vidange avant de remettre le bouchon (diamètre extérieur 20 mm, diamètre intérieur 15 mm)
