Draining the Oil

  • Unlike most vehicles, the Harley Sportster Evolution Engine has an oil drain tube, not a plug.

  • This tube is attached by a house clamp to a nipple welded to the frame.

  • Loosen the house clamp with a Flathead Screwdriver. Do not remove the tube until you have your drain pan in position.

  • Removing the cap/dipstick from your oil tank at this point may help your oil drain faster.

  • Pull the hose free from it's nipple and allow the oil to drain into your drain pan.

  • When the oil slows to a drip, replace the hose. Do not tighten the clamp yet, we will return for that later.

Vidange de l'huile

Contrairement à la plupart des véhicules, le moteur Harley Sportster Evolution a un tube de vidange d'huile, pas une prise.

Ce tube est fixé par un collier de serrage à un raccord soudé au cadre.

Desserrer le collier de serrage avec un tournevis à tête plate. Ne retirez pas le tube jusqu'à ce que votre bac de vidange soit positionné en dessous.

À ce stade enlever le bouchon/jauge du réservoir d'huile peut aider l'huile à s'évacuer plus rapidement.

Tirez le tuyau hors de son mamelon et laisser l'huile de vidange s'écouler dans le bac de vidange.

Lorsque l'huile ralentit en goutte à goutte, replacer le tuyau. Ne serrez pas encore le collier, nous y reviendrons plus tard.
