Draining the Oil

  • Unlike most vehicles, the Harley Sportster Evolution Engine has an oil drain tube, not a plug.

  • This tube is attached by a house clamp to a nipple welded to the frame.

  • Loosen the house clamp with a Flathead Screwdriver. Do not remove the tube until you have your drain pan in position.

  • Removing the cap/dipstick from your oil tank at this point may help your oil drain faster.

  • Pull the hose free from it's nipple and allow the oil to drain into your drain pan.

  • When the oil slows to a drip, replace the hose. Do not tighten the clamp yet, we will return for that later.

Drenando el aceite

Al contrario que en la mayoría de vehículos, el motor de la Harley-Davidson Sportster Evolution no tiene un tapón para el aceite, tiene solo un tubo.

Este tubo esta anclado a un saliente del chasis con una brida metálica.

Aflojamos la brida con un destornillador plano.No retires el tubo hasta que no tengas el recipiente de recogida en posición.

Quitar la tapa/varilla de medición del tanque de aceite, podría ayudarte a retirar el aceite más rápido.

Retiramos la manguera de la tubería y dejamos que todo el aceite salga hacia el recipiente de vaciado.

Cuando el aceite haya salido y solo caigan gotas, volveremos a colocar la manguera en su sitio.No aprietes aún la brida, volveremos a ella mas tarde.
