Drain the Old Oil

  • Locate the oil pan drain plug underneath the car. It is a 13 mm hex bolt that faces towards the rear of the car.

  • Place an oil drain pan underneath the oil pan to catch the draining oil. Remember to place it towards the rear of the car, since the oil will come out of the oil pan in a stream.

  • Be very cautious when working under a car that has been running recently, because the oil pan and transmission will be very hot.

  • Loosen the oil pan drain plug with a 13 mm socket wrench until it comes off and oil is draining out of the oil pan.

  • Watch for shiny specks in the draining oil. Small metal flakes could mean a serious problem inside your engine.

Das alte Öl ablassen

Suche die Ölablassschraube unter dem Auto. Diese hat einen 13 mm Sechskant und zeigt zur Rückseite des Fahrzeuges.

Stelle einen Auffangbehälter unter die Ölwanne, um das abfließende Öl aufzufangen. Denke daran, diese etwas hinter die Ablassschraube zu stellen, da das Öl zu Beginn mit einem Strahl abfließen wird.

Sei sehr vorsichtig, wenn du unter einem noch vor kurzem gelaufenen Fahrzeug arbeitest, da einige Teile noch sehr heiß sein können.

Löse nun die Ablassschraube mit einem 13mm Steckschlüssel, bis Öl aus der Ölwanne abfließt.

Sollten im Öl glänzende Flecken oder Spähne zu sehen sein, kann dies auf einen ernsthaftes Problem im Motor hindeuten.
