  • These are the magnets on the left side of the iPad 2 -- the ones that attract the Smart Cover's frame. They're integrated into the iPad 2's back cover, and held in place with four #00 Phillips screws.

  • These magnets form the same rounded contour as the exterior of the iPad 2's aluminum case. This allows for the best possible connection between the magnets in the iPad 2 and those in the Smart Cover's frame.

  • Interestingly, these magnets' polarities were manually marked -- a blue dash written with a marker -- instead of having a machine stamp/engrave the polarity into them.

  • About 10 seconds after we took the second picture, the magnets naturally gravitated towards one another and fused together -- they're very strong!

Voilà les aimants sur le côté gauche de l'iPad 2 – ceux qui attirent le cadre de la Smart Cover. Ils sont intégrés dans la coque arrière de l'iPad 2 et maintenus en place par quatre vis cruciformes #00.

Ces aimants forment le même contour arrondi que l'extérieur de la coque en aluminium de l'iPad 2. Cela permet la meilleure connexion possible entre les aimants de l'iPad 2 et ceux du cadre de la Smart Cover.

Fait intéressant, les polarités de ces aimants ont été marquées manuellement – un tiret bleu écrit avec un marqueur – au lieu d'un timbre/d'une gravure automatique marquant la polarité en eux.

Environ 10 secondes après la deuxième photo, les aimants ont gravité naturellement les uns aux autres et fusionné – ils sont vraiment forts !
