  • Turn the unit back over and lift the top out of the tube that makes up the body of the unit.

  • There are two small plates (one plastic and one metal) behind the nut you removed. Mind the order of these. The metal plate is on the outside and the plastic is on the inside. Also note the orientation of the plastic plate. There is an inside face, and outside face.

  • Inside you will find the float and the three wires that make the sending unit work. You can see the three wires pictured here.

  • Inspect these wires carefully. If any of them is broken they will need to be repaired by soldering them back on to their contact points.

  • If these wires are intact, proceed to clean the internal components (wires, float, etc) and the inside of the tube with brake cleaner.

  • Be very careful when handling the insides of the sending unit as the three wires are very fragile!

Retournez l'appareil et soulevez le haut du tube qui constitue le corps de l'appareil.

Il y a deux petites plaques (une en plastique et une en métal) derrière l'écrou que vous avez retiré. Faites attention à l'ordre de ces dernières. La plaque métallique est à l'extérieur et la plaque en plastique à l'intérieur. Notez également l'orientation de la plaque en plastique. Il y a une face intérieure et une face extérieure.

A l'intérieur, vous trouverez le flotteur et les trois fils qui font fonctionner l'unité d'envoi. Vous pouvez voir les trois fils sur la photo ici.

Inspectez soigneusement ces fils. Si l'un d'entre eux est cassé, il devra être réparé en le ressoudant sur ses points de contact.

Si ces fils sont intacts, nettoyez les composants internes (fils, flotteur, etc.) et l'intérieur du tube avec un nettoyant pour freins.

Soyez très prudent lorsque vous manipulez l'intérieur de l'unité d'envoi car les trois fils sont très
