Remove the rubber base

  • Place a piece of cloth or a similar soft material on a clean, flat surface. Place the device upside down on top of the fabric.

  • Open the Time Capsule by exposing the screws that hold the device together. The screws are concealed by the rubber base, which is the bottom surface of the device.

  • Use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the rubber base, which softens the adhesive holding it on.

  • Starting in a corner, carefully lift the rubber base to prevent tearing. You can use a guitar pick or a small, plastic ruler to help separate the rubber from the metal.

  • Take your time to prevent tearing the adhesive. Ensure that you don't overheat the device.

  • If you tear some of the adhesive, don't worry. The existing adhesive is more than enough to allow the rubber base to stick back onto the unit during reassembly.

  • During reassembly, you can apply heat to the rubber base. This will enable the adhesive to flow and form a better bond with the device's metal casing.

Retira la base de goma

Coloque una pieza de tela o un material suave similar en una superficie limpia, plana. Coloca el dispositivo de cabeza abajo sobre la tela.

Abra el Time Capsule exponiendo los tornillos que mantienen el dispositivo unido. Los tornillos están ocultos por la base de goma, que es la superficie inferior del dispositivo.

Usa una pistola de calor o secadora de cabello para calentar la base de goma, lo cual debilita el adhesivo sosteniéndolo.

Empezando en una esquina, levante cuidadosamente la base de goma para prevenir roturas. Puedes usar una pua de guitarra o una pequeña, regla de plástico para ayudar separar la goma del metal.

Tómese su tiempo para evitar roturas en el adhesivo. Asegure que no se sobrecaliente el dispositivo.

Si se rompe un poco del adhesivo no te, preocupes. El adhesivo existente es mas que suficiente para volver a pegar la base de goma en la unidad durante el re-ensamble.

Durante el re-ensamble puede aplicar calor a la base de goma. Esto permitirá que el adhesivo fluya y forme una mejor unión con la carcasa de metal del dispositivo.
