Set up the soldering iron

  • This iron gets HOT! Use caution when handling the iron apparatus and anything it comes in contact with. When in doubt, assume the surface is hot.

  • The rubber handle of the iron should not get hot (although it may become warm over time, this is not an issue). This is the safe location to handle the iron.

  • Any exposed metallic portion of the iron WILL be hot. The majority of the heat is located in the tip, but the base of the heating element (near the hand grips) is also hot enough to burn. DON'T TOUCH IT. EVER. WE MEAN IT.

  • Keep the iron in it's stand when not currently in use. Never leave a warm iron unattended. Before leaving a setup, ensure that the iron is UNPLUGGED and COLD. (Do not touch the tip of the iron to confirm this! If the iron is hot, this will be evident by observing radiating heat.)

  • Make sure the soldering iron is properly plugged into the base unit and is powered on. (red power switch is located on the side of the base unit)

  • Use the dial to set the temperature to read 600 degrees Fahrenheit.

De soldeerbout voorbereiden

De soldeerbout wordt HEET! Wees voorzichtig bij het hanteren van de soldeerbout en alles waarmee deze in contact komt. Ga er bij twijfel van uit dat het oppervlak heet is.

De handgreep van de soldeerbout mag niet heet worden (hoewel deze na verloop van tijd warm kan worden, is dit geen probleem). Dit is de veiligste plek om de soldeerbout vast te houden.

Elk blootgesteld metalen deel van de soldeerbout ZAL heet zijn. Het grootste deel van de warmte bevindt zich in de punt, maar de basis van het verwarmingselement (in de buurt van de handgreep) is ook heet genoeg om te verbranden. RAAK HET NOOIT AAN. WE MENEN HET.

Bewaar de soldeerbout in zijn standaard wanneer u deze niet gebruikt. Laat een warme soldeerbout nooit onbeheerd achter. Zorg ervoor dat de soldeerbout niet in het stopcontact zit en koud is voordat u uw werkplek verlaat. (Raak de punt van de soldeerbout niet aan om dit te controleren! Als de soldeerbout heet is, zal deze stralingswarmte afgeven.)

Zorg ervoor dat de soldeerbout goed is aangesloten op de basiseenheid en is ingeschakeld. (rode aan/uit-schakelaar bevindt zich aan de zijkant van het basisstation)

Gebruik de draaiknop om de temperatuur in te stellen op ongeveer 315 graden Celsius.
