  • Remove the G5 metal cover from the processing/cooling unit of the computer. NOTE: Apple inserted a rather fragile plastic pin that inserts through the top divider shield and clips into a tab on the hidden ledge of this CPU shield. Removing this pin, certainly voided Mac's warranty - but more appropriate for now, voids most after-market insurance plans. A replacement pin (new) is hard to get ahold of, and very few are talented and patient enough to remove this pin without damaging it. Just something to keep in mind.   • Pull the metal plate to the left and outward to remove the plate from the processing/cooling unit.

Retire la cubierta metálica del G5 de la unidad de procesamiento/refrigeración del ordenador. NOTA: Apple insertó un pasador de plástico bastante frágil que atraviesa el protector divisor superior y se engancha en una pestaña del borde oculto de este protector de CPU.

Quitar este pasador, sin duda, anuló la garantía de la Mac; pero, más apropiado por ahora, anula la mayoría de los seguros posventa.

Un pasador de repuesto (nuevo) es difícil de conseguir, y muy pocos tienen el talento y la paciencia suficientes para quitarlo sin dañarlo. Solo algo para tener en cuenta. Si ya no tiene garantía o no le importa, continúe...

Tire de la placa de metal hacia la izquierda y hacia afuera para quitarla de la unidad de procesamiento/enfriamiento.
