Prepare the baking pan and kneading paddle

Fit the kneading paddle onto the pan shaft firmly so it does not come loose during mixing.
Lightly coat the inside of the pan and the paddle with a thin layer of oil or other non‑stick grease.
Proper greasing lets the finished loaf and paddle release cleanly.
