Assess the damage

  • Locate the damaged cord lock and take note of:

  • Type - The style of of cord lock and how many holes it has

  • Drawcord - How the drawcord threads through the cord lock and how the drawcord ends (end cap, knot, stitching)

  • Other Pieces - If the cord lock and drawcord are used in conjunction with any other pieces such as a rubber pull tab or plastic disc

  • If the cord lock is missing and it isn't clear how it was originally placed, see Step 7 for tips.

  • Check the other cord locks along that same drawcord. It's best practice to replace all damaged cord locks at the same time.

Maak de schade op

Let op de volgende dingen bij het opmaken van de schade:

Type: Wat voor soort koordsluiting gaat het om en hoeveel gaten bevat de sluiting?

Trekkoord: Hoe loopt het koord door de sluiting heen en hoe is het einde van het koord bevestigd (met bijvoorbeeld een dop, een knoop of een stiksel)?

Andere onderdelen: Is er nog sprake van andere onderdelen naast het koord en de sluiting, zoals een rubberen treklip of een plastic schijf?

Als de koordsluiting ontbreekt en het niet duidelijk is hoe deze oorspronkelijk was geplaatst, bekijk je stap 7 voor tips.

Bekijk de andere koordsluitingen op hetzelfde koord. Het is beter alle beschadigde koordsluitingen tegelijk te vervangen.
