Remove mirror damper

Remove one 2.9 mm #00 screw and screw collar.
Remove rubber damper.
This rubber damper is the primary culprit for slow mirror movement. Replacing it with a new part is recommended as it provides damping for the mirror return but it isn't required for the camera to function. A model file for 3D printing new parts can be found on the main camera page.
