Separate the battery adhesive

A piece of foam tape secures the battery to the camera.
Slide the flat end of a spudger completely under the battery and lift to separate the tape, making sure not to push on the white cable under the battery.
Be very careful not to puncture or deform the battery.
Remove the battery.
