Remove the black tape at the top of the device.
Make sure to keep this as you will need to put it back on later.
Insert the iFixit opening tool in between the case frame and the metal screen plate to separate the adhesive from each side.
Take your time with this step to avoid damaging the device, as the adhesive is very strong.
