Remove the trackpad ribbon cable

Use your fingers or tweezers to remove the entire trackpad ribbon cable and set it aside.
This cable may be lightly adhered to the black mylar under it. Avoid bending the ribbon cable by using the flat end of a spudger or tweezers to pry up the ribbon cable anywhere it's adhered.
