  • Take care not to deform or puncture the battery—a damaged battery is a potential safety hazard.

  • Firmly secure the frame with one hand, and use your free hand to pry up the battery with the opening pick. Keep steady pressure on the pick for one minute.

  • If you're having trouble, try using a plastic card or two picks side by side to get more leverage.

  • If the battery really isn't budging, apply a few drops of highly-concentrated isopropyl alcohol (over 90%) to the left edge of the battery, elevate the left edge of your phone, and wait one minute for the adhesive to soften.

  • Once the adhesive begins to separate, slide your pick deeper under the battery and continue prying it up.
