Before reassembling, I cleaned this spring that opens the lid, since I couldn't tell if this was lubricating grease or just disgusting grease. I replaced it with a bit of lubricating grease, but I doubt this is needed.

i also added a little bit of grease to the gears at the other side (forgot to take a picture)
