Identify the defect

  • Here we can clearly see the defect: the strap hole is worn-out, so the strap is not fixed anymore and can pull through the sole.

  • From the bottom side, we can see that the foam hole has become too large to keep the strap "stopper" in place.

  • Preparation: We're going to create a plastic washer to keep the strap in place, and for this it's useful to have a guide to trace around. We're using a bottle lid, but a coin or anything larger than the hole will work too.

Defect vaststellen

Hier kunnen we duidelijk het defect zien: het gat voor de band is versleten, waardoor de band niet meer goed vastzit en door de zool kan schieten.

Aan de onderkant zien we dat het schuimgat te groot is geworden om de "stopper" van de band op zijn plek te houden.

Voorbereiding: We gaan een plastic ring maken om de band op zijn plek te houden. Hiervoor is het handig om een mal te hebben om rond te tekenen. We gebruiken een flesdop, maar een munt of iets anders dat groter is dan het gat werkt ook prima.
