Detach the Touchpad Cable
  • Locate the large black cable on the right side connecting the touchpad to the mainboard.

  • On the mainboard side of the cable, there is a large loop with a orange spot. Insert your finger through the loop and pull up.

  • It is not recommended to remove the touchpad cable from the touchpad side unless the touchpad or touchpad cable is being replaced, as this side is more fragile.

  • There should be little resistance when removing the cable. Avoid excessive force which may damage the cable.

  • You can now safely remove the input cover from the laptop.

  • During reassembly:

  • Remember to connect the new touchpad cable to the mainboard before placing the new input cover on the laptop.
