Applying thermal compounds (2/2)

  • Now, you should normally have replaced each thermal pad on your motherboard. You now need to replace your thermal paste (ARCTIC MX-6 in my case, for the same reasons as previously mentioned). This is fairly easy as you are simply required to deposit a single drop of thermal paste on both orange surfaces (i.e.: your graphics board and processor).

  • Once you have done that, you can either press down on said drop with a hard flat object to easily spread the paste on the surface (this step is recommended by ARCTIC), or you can let the heat exchanger press on it as you screw it back on. Please note that I only skipped that step because I did not own such flat item.

  • Since you are at it, you may as well give your heat exchanger fans a good cleaning with the dry air and wipe whatever remains with your microfiber cloth and alcohol.

Pose des éléments thermiques (2/2)

Désormais, vous devriez avoir remplacé tous les patchs thermiques de votre carte mère. Vous devez maintenant remplacer la pâte thermique (ARCTIC MX-6 dans mon cas, pour les mêmes raisons que précédemment). Il s'agit simplement de déposer une goutte de pâte thermique sur les deux surfaces orange (c'est-à-dire: votre carte graphique et votre processeur).

Une fois cette étape réalisée, vous pouvez soit appuyer sur ladite goutte via un objet plat et rigide afin d'étaler la pâte (cette étape est recommandée par recommended by ARCTIC), soit vous pouvez laisser l'échangeur thermique l'étaler lorsque vous le revisserez. Notez que j'ai choisi cette deuxième option car je ne possédais pas d'objet plat aux dimmensions requises.

Tant que vous y êtes, vous pouvez également nettoyer un bon coup vos ventilateurs sur l'échangeur thermique grâce à la bombe à air sec. Vous pourrez retirer les poussières persistantes avec votre tissu microfibres et l'alcool.
