Remove the Handles

Remove both handles by pulling them out of the lock.
Take care not to lose the little plastic rings. They act as a bearing, ensuring that turning the door handle feels easy and smooth.
Some special doors, such as fire doors or steel doors, will require you to remove the faceplate in order to remove the lock, as with these, it mounts through the lock body.
