Heater continuity check and ground check

  • (For three terminal heaters only) Check the resistance between the top and bottom terminals.

  • The multimeter should read about 40–50 Ω.

  • (All types) Check resistance from the each terminal to the heater housing.

  • The multimeter should read OL or "—"

  • If the element has the correct values when tested, you can stop here. You don't have to replace the heating element. As a precaution, while everything is accessible, you may want to test the components located on the heater housing.

Continuïteitstest en controleren van de aarding

Enkel voor de verwarmingselementen met drie secties: controleer de weerstand tussen de bovenste en onderste terminals.

De multimeter zou ongeveer 40-50 Ω moeten meten.

Alle typen: meet de weerstand van elke terminal naar de behuizing.

De multimeter zou OL of "—" aan moeten geven.

Als het element de juiste waarden weergeeft, kun je hier stoppen. Je hoeft het verwarmingselement niet te vervangen. Mocht je voor de zekerheid nog wel meer willen controleren nu alles open ligt en toegankelijk is, dan kun je de componenten op de behuizing testen.
