Unfasten the fan

Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the three 3.6 mm-long screws securing the fan.
Some models may also have a strip of tape over the small gap between the fan and the heat pipe. Use a pair of tweezers or your fingers to peel it up and remove it before removing the fan.
