Tape over any cracks

  • If your iPhone has a cracked screen, keep further breakage contained and prevent bodily harm during your repair by taping over the glass.

  • Lay overlapping strips of clear packing tape over the iPhone's screen until the whole face is covered.

  • Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes from any glass shaken free during the repair.

  • If you can't get the suction cup to stick in the next few steps, fold a strong piece of tape (such as duct tape) into a handle and lift the screen with that instead.

  • If all else fails, you can superglue the suction cup to the screen.

Plak tape over eventuele barsten in het scherm

Als je iPhone een gebarsten scherm heeft, kun je wat tape over de barsten plakken om te voorkomen dat het scherm verder beschadigd raakt tijdens dit proces. Zo verklein je ook het risico op fysieke schade.

Plak een aantal lagen tape op het scherm van de iPhone tot het gehele scherm bedekt is.

Dit houdt de glasscherven bij elkaar en biedt structurele integriteit bij het verwijderen van het scherm.

We raden je ten sterkste aan om tijdens deze stap een veiligheidsbril te dragen zodat je je ogen beschermt tegen eventueel loskomende glasscherven.

Als het je in de volgende stappen niet lukt om de zuignap op het scherm te bevestigen, kun je ervoor kiezen om een stuk duct tape in een handvatvorm op het scherm te plakken. Hiermee kun je dan het scherm omhoog tillen om een opening te creëren.

Als alternatief kun je er ook voor kiezen om de zuignap met secondelijm op het scherm vast te plakken.
