Disconnect the pump motor

To prevent confusion, label each connector with its corresponding cable color.
Disconnect the connector(s) attached to the pump motor.
Always grip cables by their connectors and not the wires themselves.
The shrouded connectors can fool you into thinking you have properly reconnected them. It should require some force to reassemble; if it slides in easily, you probably missed it. Tug on the connector after reassembling it; it should take a firm pull to disconnect it.
