With a tool in each hand, insert them into the openings of the buttons.
Make sure the two tools are centered on the plastic in the openings.
Tools must be small enough to fit inside the openings - alternatives to spudgers work.
Firmly press downwards until the button pops out.
Applying a lot of pressure is necessary, but also may damage the plastic of the lid.
