Test after Cleaning

  • If you cleared any contacts, the remote buttons might now be working. Now is a good time to reassemble and test. Since cracking the case open is probably a chore, let's not do that again unless we have to. If we are lucky, we can test without complete reassembly.

  • With the LG remote that is under repair, I found that I could put the circuit board back into the case bottom, followed by the keyboard membrane. After putting the batteries in place, I could test the keys without replacing the top part of the remote. If you can do this, it will save a lot of work.

  • Thoroughly test all buttons to see if they work. Take note of any new failures, or any buttons that were repaired by your cleaning. In my case, the Power button was still not working, but all the others were fine.

Test na het reinigen

Als je contacten hebt schoon gemaakt, werken de knoppen op de afstandsbediening nu mogelijk wel. Dit is een goed moment om alles weer in elkaar te zetten en te testen. Als we geluk hebben, kunnen we testen zonder alles weer in elkaar te hoeven zetten.

Met de LG-afstandsbediening ontdekte ik dat ik de printplaat weer in de onderkant van de behuizing kon plaatsen, gevolgd door het toetsenbordmembraan. Nadat ik de batterijen had geplaatst, kon ik de toetsen testen zonder het bovenste deel van de afstandsbediening te plaatsen. Als je dit kunt doen, scheelt het je een hoop werk.

Test alle knoppen grondig om te zien of ze werken. Noteer eventuele nieuwe storingen of knoppen die door het schoonmaken zijn gerepareerd. In mijn geval werkte de Power-knop nog steeds niet, maar alle andere waren prima.
