Remove pilot wire

  • Use a small flat blade screwdriver (1.5mm pictured) to press the release tine of the pilot wire, while pulling snugly on the wire to pull it out of the connector.

  • This can be a fiddly process. It does take a little force to pull the connector out, but not enough to rip it out of the crimp.

  • Feel free to go a bit ham with the screwdriver. You don't need this plastic housing - the new relay has a new housing. You do need the crimp though, so try to preserve it.

  • The pilot wire may be orange (most common) or blue (less common), but whether it's teal, auburn, heliotrope, gamboge, or rainbow colored - it's the position that matters :)

  • Once removed, find and flex the locking tab back into shape so it'll lock on the new connector.

Verwijder de stuurdraad

Gebruik een kleine platte schroevendraaier (1,5 mm afgebeeld) om de ontgrendeling van de stuurdraad in te drukken, terwijl je stevig aan de draad trekt om deze uit de connector te trekken.

Dit kan een lastig proces zijn. Er is wel wat kracht nodig om de connector eruit te trekken, maar niet genoeg om hem uit de krimpverbinding te trekken.

Ga gerust een beetje ruig om met de schroevendraaier. Deze plastic behuizing heb je niet nodig; het nieuwe relais heeft een nieuwe behuizing. Je hebt de krimpverbinding wel nodig, dus probeer deze te behouden.

De stuurdraad kan oranje (meest gebruikelijk) of blauw (minder gebruikelijk) zijn, maar of deze nu blauwgroen, kastanjebruin, heliotroop of regenboogkleurig is: het is de positie die er toe doet :)

Eenmaal verwijderd, zoek je het vergrendelingslipje en buig je het terug in vorm, zodat het op de nieuwe connector vergrendelt.
