Remove keyboard

Push in the two latches at the back of the keyboard, then lift the keyboard from the back and gently pull it towards the screen.
Be careful when removing the keyboard! The ribbon cable leading to the motherboard is quite short. Nothing in this step should require much force.
Release the retaining clip by gently pushing the two tabs away from the connector, then pull the cable out.
Those two latches are actually separate parts from the top cover. Isn't that cool?! Kudos to Acer for thoughtfulness and serviceability - designing those into the laptop cost them time and money when they could have just molded damage-prone tabs into the top cover.
