Soldering
  • Prepare the Soldering Iron: Plug in and heat up your soldering iron. Ensure it's clean and ready for use.

  • Remove the Old Plug: Carefully cut away the old jack plug if it is still attached. Use wire strippers to expose the wires inside the cable.

  • Tin the Wires: Lightly tin the exposed wire ends by applying a small amount of solder. This makes it easier to connect to the new jack plug.

  • Attach the Wires to the New Plug: Identify the corresponding terminals on the new 3.5mm 4-pole jack plug (ground, left, right, microphone). Solder each tinned wire to its corresponding terminal.

  • Inspect the Connections: Double-check the solder joints to ensure they are secure and that no wires are crossing or shorting out.
