Pull out CPU tray

  • Find the 2 pull tabs and use them to pull out the CPU tray and place them on the table.

  • Use a hex wrench to unscrew the spring-loaded screw using the star pattern on the CPU Heatsink for even force of the CPU die. This is a specially needed when putting the Heatsink back on.

  • Turn the hex wrench once each time until it's loose when Using the star pattern (Diagram shown).

  • On 2009 (4,1) Mac Pros, The CPU comes up with the Heatsink and is not socketed. Like the 2010-2012 (5,1) Mac Pros.

  • Pull Straight up as there is a vital connection built into the heatsink.

  • On the bottom of the heatsink will be a copper pad that comes in contact with the CPU. Use a paper towel to wipe off all the remaining thermal paste, isopropyl Alcohol is handy for this.

  • Isopropyl alcohol is handy for getting the best for cleaning the Copper Heatsink&CPU for new thermal paste.

Extraer la bandeja de la CPU

Busca las 2 lengüetas y utilízalas para sacar la bandeja de la CPU y colocarlas sobre la mesa.

Usa una llave hexagonal para desenroscar el tornillo con muelle usando el patrón de estrella en el disipador de calor de la CPU para lograr una fuerza uniforme en la matriz de la CPU. Esto es especialmente necesario al volver a colocar el disipador de calor.

Gira la llave hexagonal una vez cada vez hasta que quede suelta cuando utiliza el patrón de estrella (se muestra el diagrama).

En Mac Pros 2009 (4,1), la CPU incluye el disipador de calor y no está conectada. Como los Mac Pros 2010-2012 (5,1).

Tira hacia arriba ya que hay una conexión vital integrada en el disipador de calor.

En la parte inferior del disipador de calor habrá una almohadilla de cobre que entra en contacto con la CPU. Usa una toalla de papel para limpiar toda la pasta térmica restante.

El alcohol isopropílico es útil para obtener lo mejor para limpiar el disipador térmico de cobre y la CPU para aplicar pasta térmica nueva.
