Changing the thermal paste

  • Unscrew the 5 screws holding the CPU cooler. Disconnect the fan cable by releasing the latch on the connector and pulling the cable out.

  • Clean the old thermal paste both from the cooler and the CPU. It is best to use isopropyl alcohol and cotton buds or paper towel, but be careful not to go too hard on the CPU

  • Once you removed the old thermal paste its time to apply new one.

  • Dont use too much thermal paste, just enough to cover some portion of the pad. If you have a spreader, use it. The thermal paste will apply evenly after you tighten the heatsink.

  • Last, put the heatsink back carefully and tighten the screws in order 1 -> 5 to ensure even pressure. Dont forget to plug in the fan cable.

Cambiando la pasta térmica

Desenrosca los 5 tornillos que sujetan el disipador del procesador. Desconecta el cable del ventilador liberando el seguro en el conector y jalando el cable hacia afuera.

Limpia la antigua pasta térmica tanto del disipador como del procesador. Lo mejor es utilizar alcohol isopropílico y copitos de algodón o toallas de papel, pero ten cuidado de no presionar con fuerza sobre el procesador.

Una vez que hayas removido la antigua pasta térmica, es hora de aplicar una nueva.

No uses demasiada pasta térmica, solo lo suficiente para cubrir cierta parte del procesador. Si tienes una espátula, utilízala. La pasta térmica se esparcirá uniformemente después de que atornilles el disipador.

Por último, coloca de nuevo el disipador con cuidado y aprieta los tornillos en orden del 1 hasta el 5 para garantizar una presión uniforme. No te olvides de conectar el cable del ventilador.
