Start Disassembly

Just the basic stuff here. Remove the back by pressing down on the top and pulling away from the device until the top separates.
Then, start by removing the m-tape module.
Then remove the AAA batteries.
To remove the m-tape module, simply pull on it gently until it pulls off the label maker. For the AAA batteries, remove them as you would from any other device.
This is about the extent of modular parts you will see in this teardown as far as electronics go, so look out.
