Remove the battery from the watch.
You can do this step using either a spudger or your fingers.
Batteries are considered hazardous waste. Do not throw away the battery. Keep it until you are able to dispose of it properly. Depending on where you live, some stores like Best Buy will recycle batteries for you at no charge.
